We currently have 6 grandchildren - 4 girls
and 2 boys. Five belong to my daughter and one boy belongs to Debbie's son.
Since my son-in-law is a New
York City fireman, they live in Staten Island. This means that we don't get to see them as often as we would like but
with 5 kids under the age of 18, their parents are kept pretty busy anyway.
Debbie's son is a cardiologist and his wife is a nurse.
Between their son and their jobs, they also find life quite busy.
They are 6 very different human beings and we enjoy them all. The two oldest
girls are only about a year apart and are more like twins than just sisters. We can't imagine
being the only boy among all those girls but he doesn't seem to mind.
It is also fun watching how much faster the youngest
tends to pick up things by watching the others. We often tease their mother that she already gets away with so much more than
the older girls ever did! Of course, she denies it and pretends that the 'baby' certainly isn't spoiled in any
way... We really enjoy being with them - although we also realize why evolution favors the young when it comes to child rearing!
They certainly have the energy and the patience.
