Moriarty. She had a brother Robert Greaney and Thomas Greaney, who are my Great uncles. Her 2 sisters were Alice Greaney
and Eva Greaney. Eva was a retired schoolteacher. They both lived in Holyoke all their lives. My great-grandparents were
Thomas and Bridget Greaney, I believe they came from Ireland and settled in Holyoke in the late 1800's and raised a
large family. My Grandmother Claire Greaney was the Great aunt of an Anne Greaney, who I spoke with a very long time ago.
I remember Anne telling me she had a daughter who was also a nurse in the Boston, Mass area. I'm sure I have Lots of
Greaney cousins that I have never met, but would like to get on touch with them. I have a cousin, who is a Physician (Greaney)
and practices Radiology in the northern California area and I believe his dad was also a physician. One of my ! relatives
I believe went to MIT, but cant be sure. I have 2 daughters (Moira and Naila), who (at the present time )are both in medical
school. My Dad Eugene J Moriarty, served in WW2 as a flight engineer on the Flying Fortress. He was a POW for almost a
year, Then was liberated and returned to Holyoke, Mass. His mother was Claire Gertrude Greaney. Several of my close relatives
(Greaneys) are buried in St Jeromes Holyoke Mass. |
